La la la Lamb

Last Sunday my friends Lydia, Phil and myself decided to take a trip down to Inglewood to check out the Fine Diner. I have heard quite a few good things about it from some associates of mine. I also have a bit of an inside scoop, seeing as I used to cook with one of the sous chefs there.

The Fine Diner is not a large establishment (probably on par with Monki for seating) We waited for about 10 minutes to get in which was no big, seeing as it was Sunday afternoon in a very trendy area of town. After perusing the menu for a short period of time I saw something that stuck out. A lamb burger. For those of you that do not know me, I have a saying. If it's too young to have known the harshness of the world, it's probably going to be delicious. My friend Phil and I both ordered chocolate shakes and my friend Lydia was thrilled that the Coke she ordered came in a glass bottle.

After a very short period of time our food arrived. As soon as the plate was placed in front of me something magical was on my plate. Fried cheese! Oh yes, they fry the cheese on the burger and some of it obviously escapes on to the grill. leaving you with a patty that is infused with cheese and this delicious little cheese chip which, was amazing. I had ordered a caesar salad to go with my burger, and it was not your usual deal. It was a head of baby romaine cut into quarters and drizzled with an amazingly creamy and light dressing. I actually focused solely on my salad before I even looked further into my burger.

The burger. Oh my goodness the burger. This baby was picturesque. Arugula for the greens and mushrooms, I have no idea what kind (I could have asked but my mouth was far too full) but the mushrooms where perfect. Then there was the patty. Seared so perfectly it had a crispy crust on both sides. They literally seared in the innocence. After you got past this amazingly crispy exterior you where met with this soft, tender melt in your mouth piece of heaven. The room actually got brighter as my pupils dilated. This is now the standard that I will hold all lamb burgers to be cooked to from now on.

I am going to have to make a second trip to try more burgers on their menu as this one has left me begging for more.

I tip my metaphorical hat to you Fine Diner. I will be back, if not just for the fried cheese alone.

Stay Tasty
